V Rising Solo Build Guide — Best Self-Sufficient Setups. Updated .

V Rising Solo Build

Self-sufficient builds for the solo player — Greatsword Brute for all-content, Summoner Scholar for safe bosses, and hidden PvP survival tactics.

🧠 Solo Play Principles

Playing solo in V Rising is fundamentally different from group play. These principles apply regardless of which build you choose.

PrincipleExplanation
Self-sustain is mandatoryNo teammate to revive you. Every solo build needs healing — Sanguine Coil or Veil of Blood. Potions alone won't cut it.
Pick your fightsIn a group, you can handle adds + boss simultaneously. Solo, you must clear adds first or kite them away. Never fight a boss with adds alive behind you.
Castle placement matters moreNo allies to defend your base. Build in less-trafficked zones if on a PvP server. On PvE, prioritize proximity to resource-rich areas.
Blood quality is non-negotiableIn a group, you can get carried with mediocre blood. Solo, 60%+ blood quality is the difference between winning and corpse-running.
Carry two weaponsYou don't have teammates to cover your weaknesses. Carry a melee weapon (Greatsword) for bosses and a ranged weapon (Longbow) for pulling/kiting.

⚔️ #1 Greatsword Brute — All-Content Solo Build

The most versatile solo build. Handles farming, bosses, and PvP defense equally well. If you only want to learn one build, this is it.

Full Configuration

SlotChoiceReason
WeaponGreatsword (Sanguine tier)Highest single-target burst for bosses. Q-spin handles adds. One weapon for all content.
Blood TypeBrute 90%+ quality25% attack speed fixes Greatsword's slowness. +Health bonus makes you tanky enough to solo any boss.
ArmorSanguine Armor SetMaximum physical damage. At GS 50-70, use Dawnthorn for the extra health.
Travel SpellVeil of BloodDash + heal. Your primary sustain tool. Dash through the boss every time it's off cooldown.
Basic Spell 1Sanguine CoilRanged heal. Use when Veil of Blood is on cooldown. Together they provide near-constant healing.
Basic Spell 2Chaos VolleyRanged damage for kiting phases. Pull bosses, finish runners, poke from safe distance.
UltimateHeart StrikeBurst finisher + heal. Use at 40% boss HP — the heal covers any damage you take during the cast.

Solo Combat Rotation

  1. Pull: Chaos Volley at max range to pull the boss away from adds.
  2. Engage: E (Lunge) into the boss → Q (Spin Slash) for initial burst + add clear.
  3. Damage loop: Auto-attack twice → dodge boss mechanic → Veil of Blood through boss → charged heavy. Repeat.
  4. Sustain: When HP drops below 60%, Sanguine Coil → dodge away → wait for Veil of Blood cooldown → re-engage.
  5. Finish: Boss below 40% → E + Q + fully charged heavy + Heart Strike. Fight over.
Solo Boss Strategy: Don't be greedy. The #1 cause of solo deaths is trying to land one more hit instead of dodging. Greatsword wins through patience — dodge every mechanic, then punish with a full charged heavy during the boss's recovery animation. You have all the time in the world; the boss doesn't heal between hits.

🛡️ #2 Summoner Scholar — Safe Boss Killer

The safest solo build in the game. Minions tank bosses while you deal damage from range. Perfect for Brutal difficulty or bosses you're learning for the first time.

Full Configuration

SlotChoiceReason
WeaponLongbow (Sanguine tier)Maximum range keeps you safe behind minions. Charged arrow pierces through summons into the boss.
Blood TypeScholar 60%+ qualityCooldown reset = more summons. Minion attacks count toward the 8-hit reset. Near-infinite summon uptime.
ArmorSanguine Armor SetSpell power scales summon damage. Higher spell power = stronger skeletons and Death Knight.
Travel SpellVeil of FrostDash leaves a slowing ice trail. Kite the boss through it while your minions DPS.
Basic Spell 1Summon SkeletonDistraction summon. Bosses often target skeletons, giving you 3-5 seconds of free damage.
Basic Spell 2Death KnightTanky summon with high aggro generation. Functions as your "tank" — the boss fights the knight while you shoot.
UltimateArmy of the Dead4 skeletons for 20 seconds. Combined with Skeleton + Death Knight, you field 6 minions. Bosses can't handle that many targets.
Summoner Mindset: You are the general, not the soldier. Your job is positioning and spell management — let the minions do the fighting. If all minions die, dash away and re-summon. Never face-tank a boss as a Summoner. The build is slow but nearly death-proof. You can solo every boss on Brutal without taking a single hit.

🗡️ #3 Hidden Claw — PvP Survival Build

Solo on a PvP server is a different game. This build prioritizes survival, escape, and ambush tactics over raw DPS. Stay hidden, strike fast, vanish.

Full Configuration

SlotChoiceReason
WeaponSlashers (Sanguine tier)Q (Camouflage) grants invisibility. E (Elusive Strike) is a dash + damage + return. Best escape weapon in the game.
Blood TypeRogue 90%+ qualityGuaranteed crits on stealthed targets. Synergizes perfectly with Slashers' invisibility.
ArmorDawnthorn Set+Health is the best stat for PvP survival. Survive their burst, then escape or counter.
Travel SpellVeil of ChaosClone recasts your next spell. Double Sanguine Coil for emergency healing, or double Chaos Volley for a surprise burst.
Basic Spell 1Frost BarrierDamage absorption + slow aura. Pop this before escaping — attackers who chase you get slowed.
Basic Spell 2Sanguine CoilHeal on hit. In PvP, every fight is a war of attrition — healing gives you the edge.
UltimateHeart StrikeFinish wounded pursuers. If someone chases you to low HP, turn and Heart Strike for the reversal.

PvP Survival Tactics

  1. Always have an escape route: Before farming any area, identify 3 exit paths. Know where the nearest cave passage and teleporter are.
  2. Q first, fight later: Slashers Q (Camouflage) is your best friend. Go invisible, reposition, then decide to fight or flee.
  3. Third-party awareness: In group PvP zones, wait for two groups to engage, then pick off stragglers. Never initiate as a solo.
  4. Hide your castle: Build in remote areas (Silverlight cliffs, Cursed Forest edges). Use multiple small castles instead of one large obvious base.
Golden Rule of Solo PvP: If the fight isn't over in 10 seconds, leave. Prolonged fights attract third parties. Your goal as a solo is to survive and extract value — kills are a bonus, not the objective.
