Reaper is the PvE king. Its wide sweeping attacks clear packs of enemies faster than any weapon, and Scholar blood means your spells have near-zero cooldowns.

Why Reaper Wins PvE

Reaper's E skill (Tendon Swing) is the best AoE clear in the game — a 360-degree spin that hits every enemy around you and knocks them back. In a room with 10+ enemies, each swing generates 10+ hits. Scholar blood counts every hit toward the 8-hit cooldown reset. The result: you can cast Chaos Volley, E-spin, and by the time the spin finishes your spells are already off cooldown. This loop makes Reaper Scholar the fastest farming build and one of the safest boss-killing builds.

Pro Tip: Reaper's E → Q combo is your bread and butter. E into a pack of enemies (knocks them all back into a tight group), then immediately Q. The returning projectile from Q will hit everything in that packed group for double damage. With Scholar blood, this combo is available every 5 seconds.

⚔️ #2 Greatsword Brute — Boss Melter

When you need to delete a single target, Greatsword Brute delivers the highest burst damage in V Rising. Best for boss fights where adds aren't the main threat.

🛡️ #3 Summoner Scholar — Safest Build

The Summoner build lets minions do the work while you stay safe. Ideal for players learning boss mechanics or tackling Brutal difficulty for the first time.

Safety Strategy: The key to Summoner is positioning. Summon minions, let them draw aggro, then circle behind the boss for backstab damage with Longbow. If minions die, dash away and re-summon. You can kill every boss in the game without taking a single hit with this build — it's slow, but it's the safest approach in V Rising.

🏹 #4 Longbow Scholar — Ranged DPS

A pure ranged build that kites bosses from maximum distance. Best for mobile bosses like Octavian and Styx where melee uptime is low.
