📋 How to Use This Farming Guide

V Rising has 5 resource tiers that gate your progression. Each tier requires materials from specific biomes. This guide organizes every material by tier — follow the gear score ranges to know when and where to farm each resource.

Golden Rule: Always use Worker blood (60%+ quality) when doing dedicated farming runs. Worker blood gives a 20-30% bonus to all resource yields — it turns a 100-ore run into a 120-130 ore run, saving you hours across a full playthrough.

Each tier section below includes a material table with exact farming locations, followed by optimization tips for maximizing your yield per minute. The material tables also show what each resource is used for and link to related guides — so you know not just where to farm, but why you're farming it.

🦴 Tier 1 — Bone & Basic Materials (GS 0-15)

Your starter materials. Everything you need for your first castle, first weapon, and first armor set. Farm these in the Farbane Woods graveyard and surrounding areas.

Farming Tip: Clear the graveyard loop — start at the crypt, kill all skeletons in the graveyard, then sweep the wolf dens to the east. A full loop takes ~5 minutes and yields 30-40 Bones, 20-25 Animal Hide, and 200+ Wood. Repeat 3 times for a full starter gear set.

🔶 Tier 2 — Copper & Early Crafting (GS 15-30)

Your first metal tier. Copper unlocks real weapons and armor. All Copper materials are farmed in Farbane Woods — no need to leave the starter region yet.

Gem Dust 2 Crafted at Grinder Grind Gem Stones → Gem Dust Spell upgrades, jewelry crafting Blood Types →
Farming Tip: The best Copper farming route is the western cliff bandit camps. Start at the Farbane Woods Waygate, head west, mine all copper nodes along the cliff face, then clear the bandit camp for Whetstone and Gem Stones. One loop takes ~8 minutes and yields 60-80 Copper Ore, 3-5 Whetstones, and 8-12 Gem Stones.

⚙️ Tier 3 — Iron & Mid-Game Materials (GS 30-50)

Iron is the inflection point of V Rising. You'll farm it in Dunley Farmlands, and it gates every meaningful upgrade from this point forward. The Haunted Iron Mine is your new home.

Cotton 3 Dunley Farmlands — Cotton fields Cotton plants (white fluffy nodes) Cloth, advanced armor crafting Castle Building →
Farming Tip: The Haunted Iron Mine (southwest Dunley) is the single best Iron farming spot in the game. Bring an Iron Pickaxe — one hit yields 3-6 ore. A full mine clear takes ~10 minutes and yields 100-150 Iron Ore. Build a small castle outpost near the mine entrance to stash ore and respawn quickly if you die to the mine's skeleton guards.
Pro Tip: After defeating Quincey the Bandit King (GS 27), prioritize crafting Iron weapons BEFORE Iron armor. A stronger weapon kills enemies faster, which means you farm ore faster. Armor can wait — DPS is the best farming tool in V Rising.

🪙 Tier 4 — Dark Silver & High-Tier Materials (GS 50-70)

Dark Silver is the gateway to the late game. You'll farm Silver Ore in Silverlight Hills — the most dangerous open-world zone — and combine it with rare drops from Cursed Forest bosses.

Farming Tip: Silverlight Hills is the most dangerous farming zone in the game. Sunlight deals constant damage and every NPC patrol can kill you. Always farm Silver Ore during nighttime (in-game clock) and bring holy resistance potions. The eastern Silverlight mines have the densest Silver Ore spawns — but they're also patrolled by level 60+ paladins. Use Longbow or Crossbow to pull enemies one at a time.

🔴 Tier 5 — Sanguine & Endgame Materials (GS 70-91)

Sanguine is the final material tier. Farmed in Gloomrot and gained from the hardest bosses in the game. These materials craft the best weapons and armor in V Rising.

Power Core 5 Gloomrot — Factory areas Gloomrot mechanical enemies Advanced structures, teleporter Castle Building →

Farming Tip: Gloomrot is the endgame zone. At GS 80, even trash mobs hit hard. Always bring your best gear, max potions, and a partner if possible. The electric floor hazards in Gloomrot's factory sectors deal percentage-based damage — avoid them regardless of your gear score. Sanguine Ore nodes are guarded by level 80+ mechanical enemies; clear the room before mining.
Pro Tip: Foulrot the Soultaker (GS 55) in Cursed Forest drops the Sanguine weapon recipe — you can technically unlock Sanguine crafting before entering Gloomrot. Kill Foulrot early so you're ready to craft Sanguine weapons the moment you get your first Sanguine Ore.

Farming Optimization Tips

Seven tips that turn inefficient farming into a streamlined operation. Apply these and cut your material grind time by 40-60%.

1. Worker Blood is Non-Negotiable

60%+ Worker blood gives 20-30% bonus resource yield on every node. On a 150-ore Iron Mine run, that's 180-195 ore instead of 150. Over a full playthrough, Worker blood saves 10-15 hours of farming. Keep a high-quality Worker prisoner in your castle at all times. Full blood type guide →

2. Build Farming Outposts

Place a small castle (2x2 rooms minimum) near major farming zones — one near the Haunted Iron Mine, one near eastern Silverlight. Use these as stash points and respawn locations. The 10-minute walk back to a farming zone after dying is the biggest hidden time-sink in V Rising. Castle building guide →

3. Use the Right Tool

Mace/Pickaxe for mining nodes (highest yield per hit). Axe for wood (fastest swing). Sword for combat farming (wide arc for clearing packs). Don't mine ore with a Sword — you get less per node. Weapon tier list →

4. Farm at Night, Craft at Day

Silverlight Hills and Gloomrot have daylight penalties. Farm these zones during in-game nighttime. During daytime, stay in your castle and process your haul — smelt ores, craft planks, organize chests. This rhythm maximizes efficiency and minimizes sun-death frustration.

5. Servant Missions Are Passive Income

A full castle of 6-8 servants running 2-hour resource missions generates 200-400 of each basic material while you're offline. Set up your servant economy early and always have missions running. Servant guide →

6. Use Waygates for Multi-Zone Runs

Plan farming routes that hit multiple zones using Waygate teleports. Example: start in Farbane for Copper → Waygate to Dunley for Iron Ore → Waygate to Cursed Forest for Scourgestone. Three resources in one in-game night cycle.

7. Horse = Mobile Storage

Your horse has a small inventory. Load it with heavy materials (ore, stone, wood) during farming runs. Park it safely outside a node cluster, fill your inventory, dump into horse, repeat. Horse inventory + player inventory doubles your haul per trip. Beginner guide →

Resource Farming FAQ

What's the most efficient early-game farming route?
For GS 0-20: Start at Farbane Woods graveyard → clear skeletons for Bones (5 min) → sweep wolf dens for Animal Hide (3 min) → mine copper nodes along western cliffs (8 min) → clear bandit camp for Whetstones (5 min). Total: ~20 minutes for a full early-game resource haul. Repeat 2-3 times to fully gear up in Bone → Copper equipment.
Do resource nodes respawn?
Yes, all resource nodes in V Rising respawn on a timer. Ore nodes respawn roughly every 10-15 minutes of in-game time. Tree nodes respawn faster (~5-8 minutes). The respawn timer is per-node and independent of other nodes — a node starts its respawn timer the moment you finish mining it. Server settings can adjust respawn rates (private servers often have faster respawns).
How do I get Sanguine materials before GS 80?
You can't safely farm Sanguine Ore before GS 80 — Gloomrot enemies will kill you in 1-2 hits. However, you CAN get Sanguine materials before GS 80 through: (1) Killing Foulrot the Soultaker (GS 55) for the Sanguine weapon recipe, (2) Sending high-gear-score servants on Gloomrot missions (they can bring back Sanguine materials), (3) Trading with other players on PvP servers. The intended path is to reach GS 80+ through Dark Silver gear first, then enter Gloomrot.
